Released September 1, 2025

Introduction — Why Tōshōgū at Night?

Nikkō Tōshōgū, the lavish mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, is one of Japan’s most iconic shrines.

Yet there is a face of Tōshōgū that can only be seen during the special evening opening.

In November, when the grounds are at the height of autumn colors, the interplay of light and shadow creates a living artwork.

This is not tourism, but an immersion into the Japanese sensibility of impermanence.

Why This Experience, Why Now

  1. Autumn Foliage as Time’s Art

The fleeting brilliance of autumn leaves embodies the Japanese aesthetic of impermanence.

  1. Light and Shadow Unveiled

At night, the carvings and architecture reveal expressions unseen in daylight, as if imbued with life.
